Characteristics:

Leek, also known as garlic seedling, has flat leaves. Its false stem is as white as green onion, and its leaves are as flat as garlic. The plant grows upright. Its plant height is about 50 cm. Its leaves are sword shaped, gray green, medium wax powder, and the part of the stem buried into the soil is white. Its scallion is nearly round. Its bulbs are not swollen. Both scallion and leaves can be eaten. It has soft texture, slightly spicy and sweet taste, special fragrance, strong cold resistance, few diseases and pests, and its weight per plant is about 150 grams, with an average yield of about 3500 kg per 666 square meters.

Leek can be sown from March to April in spring or from September to October in autumn, because the temperature is stable above 10 ℃ and the temperature and precipitation are moderate, which can speed up the germination of leek seeds. The specific sowing time needs to be appropriately adjusted according to the local climate and ecological conditions.

The root system of leek is relatively thin and suitable for growing in soft soil. When planting leek, sandy loam with good drainage performance can be selected as the cultivation substrate. Leeks have poor waterlogging resistance.
