Born on a hillside or cultivated. Albizia julibrissin enjoys a warm, humid and sunny environment, and has strong adaptability to climate and soil. It is suitable to grow in well drained and fertile soil, but it is also resistant to barren soil and arid climate, but not to water logging. It grows rapidly.

It likes light and warmth, and is resistant to cold, drought, barren soil and mild saline alkali. It has strong resistance to harmful gases such as sulfur dioxide and hydrogen chloride

Albizzia tree is often propagated by sowing. Seeds are collected from September to October. Pods with full seeds and free of diseases and pests should be selected during seed collection. They should be dried and threshed, and stored in dry and ventilated places to prevent mildew.

In spring, before sowing, soak the seeds for 8-10h and then take them out for sowing. Furrow and drill sowing, with a distance of 60cm between furrows and 2-3cm covering soil, keep the border soil moist after sowing, and germinate for about 10 days. The seed consumption for 1H ㎡ is about 150kg. After the seedlings are fully grown, the management of weeding, loosening soil and topdressing should be strengthened. Transplanting in spring or autumn of the second year, with plant spacing of 3-5M. 2-3 years after transplanting, weed and loosen the nest every spring and autumn to promote growth.

Seed treatment

The Albizia julibrissin seeds shall be treated before sowing in March April of the next year. Because the seed coat of Albizzia is hard, in order to make the seeds germinate neatly and unearth quickly, it is necessary to soak the seeds in 0.5% potassium permanganate cold water solution for 2H 2 weeks before sowing, wash them with clean water after taking them out, and immerse the seeds in hot water at about 80 ℃ for 30s (the longest time shall not exceed 1min, otherwise the germination rate will be affected). Sowing can be carried out after 24h. Using this method, the germination rate can reach 80%-90%, and the seedlings grow well after emergence.
