1,  land preparation

Towel gourd is suitable for growing in sandy soil with fertile, loose soil and convenient drainage and irrigation. It is best to choose soil with strong fertility retention. Before planting, sprinkle 80~90 kg of lime powder to adjust the pH value of the soil to avoid over acid or alkali of the soil. There are no special requirements for land in the case of Luffa.

2,  planting

In early spring, the temperature is low, and the germination rate of loofah is low. It is best to soak the seeds in water for 3~4 hours before sowing, and then the seeds of loofah can only be planted after germination. Soak the towel gourd in warm water first, then take it out and directly sow it in the soil. Control the temperature at about 15 ℃ until the towel gourd sprouts; The method of single row and two plants can be used for sowing. The hole spacing is 30~40 cm. 3~4 seeds are sown in each hole, and then a layer of 1.5 cm thin soil is covered with water. After loofah grows 4 leaves, choose a sunny afternoon, pour water into the soil, and then transplant the seedlings into the open field.

3,  fertilization management

Due to the heavy rainfall in summer, the open planting of loofah requires deep furrows and high furrows, and double line "product" planting. Base fertilizer shall be applied before planting, and heavy fertilizer shall be applied at the initial stage of fruit. Compound fertilizer or farmyard fertilizer can be used as fertilizer. Multi carbon fertilizer (a little more carbon fertilizer can be applied) is required in the fruiting period to keep the loofah fresh.

4,  field management

During the growth process, the vines of the towel gourd need to climb, so after the towel gourd is planted, a small shed should be built and covered with film. When the vine is 30cm long, a tree stump or cement column can be inserted into a bamboo pole to build a support. The vine can be properly pressed, and the "zigzag" method is used to tie the vine evenly to the frame, so that there is a suitable space for Luffa to climb and grow when it grows; And pay attention to frequent ventilation to avoid poor breathing of seedlings; If the diseased leaves and old leaves below the summer towel gourd affect ventilation and are easy to spread diseases at the later stage of harvest, they should be removed in time.
