Catnip belongs to Lamiaceae, with upright and branched stems, white hairs on stems and leaves, and pale blue flowers. It is a perennial herb and belongs to the genus Nepeta. How to grow catnip? The following flowers introduce how to grow catnip.

1. Sowing method
1-3 capsules per hole, which can be broadcast directly on the ground. After the seeds are sown, they are slightly covered with vermiculite and germinate in 10-14 days at 18-22 degrees. Shade properly after sowing and avoid direct sunlight.

2. Germination method
Bury the seeds in a tray that has been soiled in advance, and spray some water evenly. Put the tray in an incubator, adjust the incubator to 25 degrees, and after 24 to 30 hours of constant temperature incubation, catnip can sprout.

3. Transplantation time
4-6 weeks after germination, one seedling is transplanted into a 9-10 cm pot as a fake plant or 1-3 seedlings are transplanted into a 11-15 cm pot for colonization. In the future, change the pot appropriately according to the growth situation, and the appropriate pot size will be conducive to the growth of the root system.

4. Soil conditions
Likes to be moderately fat. Plant in well-drained soil mixed with 2 kg of slow-release fertilizer per cubic meter. Apply a thin liquid fertilizer once or twice a week. Catnip is strong on the ground and is recommended to be planted in flowerpots, but the flowerpot should not be too small, otherwise it will affect its growth. The soil is one-third humus and two-thirds garden soil.

5. Watering
Water every day in summer, because the temperature is high in summer, and mint likes to be wet, so it is necessary to control the water in winter.

6. Lighting
Full sun is best, as lack of light will lead to leggy growth.

Dos and Don’ts of Catnip Growing Methods
Cat grass does not have strict requirements on climate, soil and other environmental conditions, and can be grown in all parts of my country. Likes warm, humid climates. Seedlings can withstand low temperatures around 0°C, and frost damage will occur below -2°C. Avoid drought and stagnant water, avoid continuous cropping. The optimum temperature for seed germination is 15-20 ℃, and the seed life is 1 year.
